Meet Treveon: The Visual Storyteller Behind Ash Hole Cigar Club Productions
By Ash Hole Cigar Club LLC · Director of Photography Feature · Cigar culture, community & content
As Ash Hole Cigar Club LLC continues to grow from a tight-knit crew into a full-scale, functional global cigar social club, the demands grow with us. Premium cigars, private smoke nights, international cigar events, and a culture built on loyalty and respect all deserve one thing: to be documented with the same care we put into every cigar we cut and light.
For years, we contracted outside photographers for product shots, professional images, and branded visuals. They did their job. But over time, it became obvious that what we were really building wasn’t just a brand – it was a family movement. And sometimes the right talent isn’t out there somewhere. It’s sitting right next to you.
From Day-One Ash Hole to Director of Photography
Treveon has been with Ash Hole Cigar Club since the very beginning. As Dee’s oldest son, he watched the club evolve from a small local group into a global cigar community with chapters around the world. He didn’t just see the growth — he lived in the middle of it. The values, the rituals, the late-night smoke sessions, the unspoken rules of cigar culture — it all soaked in early.
Around five years ago, something clicked. What started as borrowing a camera from his good friend Ace turned into something serious. The moment he felt that camera in his hands, he got bit by the camera bug. It wasn’t a hobby. It was a calling.
Instead of treating it like a phase, he doubled down. He invested in his first professional camera. It wasn’t cheap, and nobody handed it to him. That move alone told us everything we needed to know about his commitment. From there, he kept upgrading his equipment piece by piece, chasing the visual quality he already saw in his mind.
Self-Taught Craft, Old-School Values
There were no professional photographers in the family, no Hollywood uncle, no easy plug. So, like most true creatives, Treveon taught himself. Camera settings, lenses, lighting, framing, color grading — he studied it, practiced it, and refined it until the work started speaking louder than his age.
As opportunities began opening up for Chico, Tony, and Dee, it became clear that the story of Ash Hole Cigar Club needed to be captured the right way. This wasn’t just “take a picture and post it.” This was about documenting a living, breathing cigar movement.
With that one sentence, the door opened. To achieve the look and feel we wanted for AHCC — powerful, cinematic, and rooted in authenticity — Tre needed higher-level gear. Once he had it, he didn’t jog. He took off running.
But this family comes from old-school values, and nothing is simply handed to anyone. Dee sat him down and had a serious talk about the weight of the opportunity. In our world, nothing has ever been given. Everything is earned. This chance was no different.
Chico backed the same message: take this seriously, seize the moment, and build something with it. It wasn’t just about photos of cigars — it was about building a career, a creative legacy, and a lane of his own.
The Art of Documentary and the Science of Consistency
What separates someone who likes cameras from someone you trust with your entire brand identity is education and consistency. Not only does Tre have hands-on experience shooting real cigar events, smoke nights, and behind-the-scenes moments — he’s also deepening his formal education through The Art of Documentary, working toward earning all of his certifications in filmmaking.
That combination of real-world reps and structured learning is what makes him dangerous in the best possible way. He’s not guessing. He’s crafting. From composition and pace to color science and storytelling, he’s stacking skills that will serve Ash Hole Cigar Club and every project we touch.
“Papa” From the Beginning: A Mind Ahead of His Time
The truth is, Treveon has never been a kid who needed pushing. He’s always been sharp, respectful, and ahead of his time. At just two years old, he held full conversations with adults — so much so that his grandmother nicknamed him “Papa” because he carried himself like a little grown man.
That same focus and maturity shows up in his work today. Every frame is intentional. Every shot has purpose. Whether he’s capturing a new premium cigar drop, an intimate conversation between members, or a full-blown international event, he understands the assignment: tell the truth about who we are as a cigar club, not some filtered version for likes.
Ash Hole Cigar Club Productions: Tre’s Official Role
Today, Treveon is officially a partner of Ash Hole Cigar Club LLC and Ash Hole Cigar Club Productions. He wears multiple hats — and he wears all of them well. He now serves as our:
- Director of Photography (DP)
- Multimedia Producer
- Post-Production Editor
That means when you see visual storytelling tied to Ash Hole Cigar Club — the photos, the reels, the documentary-style edits, the short-form clips that capture the soul of a smoke night — you’re seeing Tre’s artistry at work.
His focus, dedication, and hunger to grow are nothing short of impressive. Surrounded by strong leadership and a community that believes in him, the sky is the starting point, not the limit.
Promoting Talent, Creating Opportunity, Guiding the Next Generation
Ash Hole Cigar Club has never just been about cigars. It’s about culture, family, and opportunity. We’ve built a cigar community where loyalty, respect, and discretion still mean something — and we take that same energy into how we grow our business and our people.
Bringing Tre into the business as a partner was a natural step. It shows him firsthand that there is more than one way to earn a living, travel the world, meet incredible people, and learn how good business is done. You don’t have to fit into someone else’s mold when you can build your own.
We’re proud to have him as a partner. And Dee, without question, is proud to see his son on board and thriving — not because anything was handed to him, but because he earned every bit of it.
Why Visual Storytelling Matters in Cigar Culture
In the world of cigar aficionados, the details matter. The way the ash holds, the glow of the foot, the way the smoke curls under a lounge light — it all tells a story. Great photography and film don’t just promote a brand; they preserve the culture.
For a serious cigar club like ours, having an in-house Director of Photography means:
- We control our visual identity — from cigar events to product launches.
- We can move fast and document real moments as they happen.
- We can showcase our cigar community with authenticity, not staged clichés.
That’s what makes this more than just content. It’s visual history of a movement built one cigar, one conversation, and one frame at a time.
Watch the Story Unfold — One Frame at a Time
From this point forward, keep your eyes open. Every photo and video — every piece of visual storytelling that pertains to Ash Hole Cigar Club — is Treveon’s artistry at work.
Whether you’re lighting up with us at a local chapter, attending one of our global cigar events, or scrolling through our feeds from across the world, you’re not just seeing content. You’re seeing a young man who took an opportunity, respected the craft, honored the family values behind it, and turned it into something real.
