Ash Hole Cigar Club & Oath Bound Coffee Support Bike MS
For Ash Hole Cigar Club, supporting Bike MS is more than participation in a charity event. It is a personal commitment to family, community and the people whose lives have been affected by multiple sclerosis.
Ash Hole Cigar Club has always believed that a strong community should do more than gather. It should serve.
Over the past several years, one cause has become especially meaningful to our family: Bike MS and the work being done to support people affected by multiple sclerosis.
Bike MS is the fundraising cycling series of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Across the country, cyclists, volunteers, donors, families and supporters come together to raise funds, increase awareness and advance the effort toward a world free of MS.
For Dee, the Ride Became Personal
In 2024, Ash Hole Cigar Club co-founder Deonce “Dee” Evans decided to participate in Bike MS: Arizona.
He was not simply signing up for another event. He was preparing to ride for someone he loves.
Dee's wife had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis seven years earlier after a long and difficult period in which doctors struggled to determine the cause of what she was experiencing.
Through that uncertainty, she continued to fight, remained positive and refused to allow the diagnosis to define the way she lived her life.
Dee saw Bike MS as an opportunity to honor that strength while standing beside the broader MS community.
The miles were about more than reaching a finish line. They were about honoring the strength of someone he loves and standing with every family affected by MS.
491.70 Miles of Preparation
Preparing for the 2024 ride required months of discipline.
For approximately six months leading up to the event, Dee trained before and after work, accumulating 491.70 miles during morning and evening rides.
The challenge was not merely distance.
Much of Dee's training took place on relatively flat roads because he lived far from the event location. The Bike MS route introduced a very different test, including the elevation and steep hills around McDowell Regional Park.
For someone completing his first organized long-distance cycling event, 46 miles under those conditions was a serious physical challenge.
Dee finished the ride proudly representing his wife, his family and others whose lives have been changed by MS.
Oath Bound Coffee Steps Up
The support extended beyond the bicycle.
Oath Bound Coffee joined the effort through an in-kind contribution, providing coffee for participants during both days of the event.
It was a simple contribution with a very human purpose: support the people who were showing up, riding, volunteering and giving their time to help move the mission forward.
That relationship continues in 2026.
Bike MS: Arizona 2026
On November 7–8, 2026, the Bike MS community returns to Arizona, and Oath Bound Coffee plans to return as well, providing donated coffee for approximately 600 participants.
The National MS Society's 2026 Arizona event includes routes through Fountain Hills, Scottsdale and Rio Verde, bringing together new riders, veteran cyclists, volunteers and supporters around a common mission.
More Than a Cigar Club
Cigar culture is built around people.
We gather around the leaf, but the relationships formed around that table should mean something after the cigars are extinguished and everyone goes home.
For Ash Hole Cigar Club, community means showing up when something matters. Sometimes that means fellowship. Sometimes it means education. Sometimes it means supporting a local business, helping a family or putting in hundreds of miles of training before climbing onto a bicycle for a cause that has become personal.
Bike MS brings together people who are energetic, determined and deeply committed to improving the lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis. That sense of community is something AHCC understands.
Riding Toward a World Free of MS
Ash Hole Cigar Club and Oath Bound Coffee are proud to stand with the Bike MS community, people living with multiple sclerosis, their families, caregivers, researchers, volunteers and everyone working toward a future without MS.
